Tea Talk Time #52

1. I'm having... Water, coffee, soda, you name it (any liquid at home except for alcohol!) :) The kids with DH and I are having a "drinking" feast here, haha.

2. I'm feeling... Happy, joyful, and hopeful for the coming new year 2011. I have also completed 52 weeks of joining Tea Talk Time and I thank my friend, Ruth for hosting this wonderful meme. I shall be joining her other memes this time, in my other site, Stories From My Garden, and hope to see you there too.

3. On my mind... More blessings from the Lord, and more time with my family. :)

...(He) loves us
and has freed us
from our sins by his blood...
Revelation 1:5

Thanks Ruth for the refreshing Tea/Coffee Break! God bless you more, my friend!

Music Monday #44 ~ Nightbird

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme.

Although a lot of other MM ladies like me are sad because Shawntele has ended Music Monday today...

She will be undergoing "renovations" in her blog, and I know that God has many plans for her and her family. We will all miss MM, but at the same time we are happy because we know that our friend is directed by our great God in whatever decisions she has made for her and her family.

I will still continue posting a video for today, for it is our 14th wedding anniversary and I am sharing one very special song which DH and I liked very much when we were still going out as a couple...

I thank you, God, for 14 years with DH... for two beautiful and intelligent children... and for great Christian friends along the way...

Fly on through the night wind take a star to her for me
Please wisper i love her make her wait for me
Here it seems so cold now how i wish her arms around me
Soar nightbird of love tell her wait for me

Cause you have wings you know i let you go
Almost every night
But lonliness can dull the shine
Of even the bright moon light

Night bird fly on, fly on
Night bird, sing her my song

Oh before you leave take this band of gold with you
And if you can find her tell her i am true

Cause you have wings you know i let you go
Almost every night
But lonliness can dull the shine
Of even the bright moon light

Night bird fly on, fly on
Night bird sing her my song

Tea Talk Time #51

1. I'm having... Plain, purified water from Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao in Greenhills.

2. I'm feeling... Happy. We just had lunch to celebrate my in-laws's 54th wedding anniversary. 54 years! And like I said, we are 40 years their junior on Dec. 27th! (My not so good Math skills says that's 14, haha)

3. On my mind... More blessings from our Lord for 2011! MERRY CHRISTMAS and a BLESSED NEW YEAR, Everyone!!!

In the same way, faith by itself,
if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Music Monday #43 ~ Mary Did You Know

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

May we all be inspired by this beautiful song. Merry Christmas to all! Let us all welcome the blessings of the coming New Year as we all remember the Reason for the Season. Thank You, Jesus, for your everlasting love.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and a BLESSED NEW YEAR, Everyone!!!

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has come to make you new?
This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will calm the storm with His hand?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little Baby you kissed the face of God?

Mary did you know.. Ooo Ooo Ooo

The blind will see.
The deaf will hear.
The dead will live again.
The lame will leap.
The dumb will speak
The praises of The Lamb.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
The sleeping Child you're holding is the Great, I Am.

Tea Talk Time #50

1. I'm having... Black coffee with Splenda. Gotta keep my mind awake for this afternoon's meeting with my students' parents.

2. I'm feeling... Excited to discuss the grades of my students to their parents. Today is our school's Parent-Student-Teacher Conference! :)

3. On my mind... A successful meeting with the parents, and my prayer that my adolescent students will strive harder for next year's 3rd (and last) Trimester.

The LORD is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
Exodus 15:2

Music Monday #42 ~ El Shaddai

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

This is one classic worship song that speaks of how great our loving God is...

El Shaddai, El Shaddai,
El-Elyon na Adonia,
Age to age You're still the same,
By the power of the name.
El Shaddai, El Shaddai,
Erkamka na Adonai,
We will praise and lift You high,
El Shaddai.

Through your love and through the ram,
You saved the son of Abraham;
Through the power of your hand,
Turned the sea into dry land.
To the outcast on her knees,
You were the God who really sees,
And by Your might,
You set Your children free.

El Shaddai, El Shaddai,
El-Elyon na Adonia,
Age to age You're still the same,
By the power of the name.
El Shaddai, El Shaddai,
Erkamka na Adonai,
We will praise and lift You high,
El Shaddai.

Through the years You've made it clear,
That the time of Christ was near,
Though the people couldn't see
What Messiah ought to be.
Though Your Word contained the plan,
They just could not understand
Your most awesome work was done
Through the frailty of Your Son.

El Shaddai, El Shaddai,
El-Elyon na Adonai,
Age to age You're still the same,
By the power of the name.
El Shaddai, El Shaddai,
Erkamka na Adonai,
I will praise and lift You high,
El Shaddai.

El Shaddai, El Shaddai,
El-Elyon na Adonai,
Age to age You're still the same,
By the power of the name.
El Shaddai, El Shaddai,
Erkamka na Adonai,
I will praise and lift You high,
El Shaddai.

1. I'm having... Plain water...

2. I'm feeling... A bit in a rush -- finishing lessons for next week's Parent-Student-Teacher Conference in school...

3. On my mind... One of my student's failing grades... :(

The unfolding of your words gives light;
it gives understanding to the simple.

Music Monday #41 ~ Lifesong

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

Praise You, oh God, for all the things You are giving us... May we be a living testimony of Your never-ending love and faithfulness...

Empty hands held high
Such small sacrifice
If not joined with my life
I sing in vain tonight

May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You

Let my lifesong sing to You
Let my lifesong sing to You
I want to sign Your name to the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to You

Lord I give my life
A living sacrifice
To reach a world in need
To be Your hands and feet

So may the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Let my lifesong sing to You

2. I'm feeling... Excited for tomorrow's field trip with my students...

3. On my mind... Christmas which is fast approaching! :)

These have come so that your faith--
of greater worth than gold, which
perishes even though refined by fire--
may be proved genuine and may result in praise,
glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Music Monday #40 ~ Love Song For A Savior

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

A beautiful song for our beautiful God...

In open fields of wild flowers,
She breathes the air and flies away
She thanks her Jesus for the daises and the roses in no simple language
Someday she'll understand the meaning of it all
He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close a heartbeat or a song on her lips
Someday she'll trust Him and learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call her and she will come running
and fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and she'll pray,

"I want to fall in love with You"

Sitting silent wearing Sunday best
The sermon echoes through the walls
A great salvation through it calls to the people
who stare into nowhere, and can't feel the chains on their souls

He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close a heartbeat or a song on our lips
Someday we'll trust Him and learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call us and we will come running
and fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and we'll pray,

"I want to fall in love with You"

It seems too easy to call you "Savior",
Not close enough to call you "God"
So as I sit and think of words I can mention
to show my devotion

"I want to fall in love with You"

"My heart beats for You"

Tea Talk Time #47

1. I'm having... Just plain, cold water...

2. I'm feeling... A bit worried about my DD's new "life" with the treatment she is undergoing now. You may read all about it in my other blog, STORIES FROM MY GARDEN...

3. On my mind... Comfort for my DD as she undergoes this long and tedious process of correcting her jawbone problem... Please pray with us for our DD's endurance and patience...

Then the LORD God formed a man
from the dust of the ground
and breathed into his nostrils
the breath of life,
and the man became a living being.

Lord, thank You because You are an unchanging God. I know that You are always faithful and strong...

Give thanks to the Lord, Our God and King
His love endures forever
For He is good, He is above all things
His love endures forever
Sing praise, sing praise

With a mighty hand and outstretched arm
His love endures forever
For the life that's been reborn
His love endures forever
Sing praise, sing praise
Sing praise, sing praise

Forever God is faithful
Forever God is strong
Forever God is with us
Forever and ever, forever

From the rising to the setting sun
His love endures forever
And by the grace of God we will carry on
His love endures forever
Sing praise, sing praise
Sing praise, sing praise

Forever God is faithful
Forever God is strong
Forever God is with us
Forever and ever, forever

His love endures forever

2. I'm feeling... Okay and happy. All is well with my kids, and my other kids (freshman students). :)

3. On my mind... Christmas vacation! (Guess this will be on my mind until that day comes!)

whoever enters through me will be saved.
They will come in and go out,
and find pasture.

Music Monday #38 ~ Jesus What A Beautiful Name

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

Praise You, Jesus, for You are one and the same despite Your many beautiful names...

Jesus, what a beautiful name
Son of God, Son of Man
Lamb that was slain
Joy and peace, strength and hope
Grace that blows all fears away
Jesus, what a beautiful name

Jesus, what a beautiful name
Truth revealed, my future sealed
Healed my pain
Love and freedom, life and warmth
Grace that blows all fears away
Jesus, what a beautiful name

Jesus, what a beautiful name
Rescued my soul, my stronghold
Lifts me from shame
Forgiveness, security, power and love
Grace that blows all fear away
Jesus, what a beautiful name

Music Monday #37 ~ Held

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

A beautiful and inspirational song about why there is suffering in life...

Two months is too little
They let him go
They had no sudden healing
To think that providence
Would take a child from his mother
While she prays, is appalling
Who told us we'd be rescued
What has changed and
Why should we be saved from nightmares
Were asking why this happens to us
Who have died to live, it's unfair
This is what it means to be held
How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive
This is what it is to be loved and to know
That the promise was that when everything fell
We'd be held
This hand is bitterness
We want to taste it and
Let the hatred numb our sorrows
The wise hand opens slowly
To lilies of the valley and tomorrow
This is what it means to be held
How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive
This is what it is to be loved and to know
That the promise was that when everything fell
We'd be held
If hope if born of suffering
If this is only the beginning
Can we not wait, for one hour
Watching for our savior
This is what it means to be held
How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive
This is what it is to be loved and to know
That the promise was that when everything fell
We'd be held

Tea Talk Time #44

1. I'm having... Cold bottled water.

2. I'm feeling... Okay; although I feel a certain sadness in my heart because DH's 102 year-old Grandma passed away last Monday, Nov. 1st. She was a dear old lady who was loved by many, especially by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren (that includes my DS and DD). Although she was blessed to live a full life and enjoyed the love of her family, we will all still miss her. I know she is happier now with the Lord.

3. On my mind... Finishing a request by my sister-in-law to make a power point tribute to our Lola (Grandma), to be shown this Saturday, during the last night of her wake. He remains will be buried this Sunday in the Chinese Cemetery, where the rest of DH's dearly departed are.

His divine power has given us everything we need
for a godly life through our knowledge of him
who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Music Monday #36 ~ Baby Mine

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

I just want to reminisce the good old sweet times when my DS, who just turned 12 yesterday (Oct. 31), was a tiny baby... He is now a tween, and just a year away from becoming a teenager. God has blessed us with so much through DS, and we are grateful and thankful. The glory and honor of being DS's parents are His.

Baby mine, don't you cry.
Baby mine, dry your eyes.
Rest your head close to my heart,
never to part, baby of mine.

Little one, when you play,
pay no heed what they say.
Let your eyes sparkle and shine,
never a tear, baby of mine.

If they knew all about you,
they'd end up loving you, too.
All those same people who scold you,
what they'd give just for the right to hold you.

From your hair down to your toes,
you're not much, goodness knows.
But, you're so precious to me,
sweet as can be, baby of mine.

♥♥ My Dancing Queen ♥♥

Dear Friends,

I would like to introduce my dear daughter, Gina to you. She is 8 years old, and is just starting to learn how to blog. I would appreciate it if you could join me in welcoming her by visiting her own site, DANCING QUEEN. Am sure leaving a kind note of encouragement would thrill her. :)

Yes, she is our little dancing queen. She has been into ballet since she was 4 years old, and is currently studying the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet syllabus in STEPS Dance Studio.

She is happiest when performing onstage, and that is why we always remind her that someday, she must use her talent in giving glory and honor to the Lord. May she grow up to be a woman beautiful in God's eyes. :)

A good woman is hard to find,
and worth far more than diamonds.
Her husband trusts her without reserve,
and never has reason to regret it.
Never spiteful, she treats him generously
all her life long.
She shops around for the best yarns and cottons,
and enjoys knitting and sewing.
She's like a trading ship that sails to faraway places
and brings back exotic surprises.
She's up before dawn, preparing breakfast
for her family and organizing her day.
She looks over a field and buys it,
then, with money she's put aside, plants a garden.
First thing in the morning, she dresses for work,
rolls up her sleeves, eager to get started.
She senses the worth of her work,
is in no hurry to call it quits for the day.
She's skilled in the crafts of home and hearth,
diligent in homemaking.
She's quick to assist anyone in need,
reaches out to help the poor.
She doesn't worry about her family when it snows;
their winter clothes are all mended and ready to wear.
She makes her own clothing,
and dresses in colorful linens and silks.
Her husband is greatly respected
when he deliberates with the city fathers.
She designs gowns and sells them,
brings the sweaters she knits to the dress shops.
Her clothes are well-made and elegant,
and she always faces tomorrow with a smile.
When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say,
and she always says it kindly.
She keeps an eye on everyone in her household,
and keeps them all busy and productive.
Her children respect and bless her;
her husband joins in with words of praise:
"Many women have done wonderful things,
but you've outclassed them all!"
Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades.
The woman to be admired and praised
is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-God.
Give her everything she deserves!
Festoon her life with praises!
Proverbs 31:10-31

♥♥ 52 Weeks Of Like Showers On New Grass ♥♥

Dear God,

Thank You for this special day. Another year is added to my life and once again, I feel nostalgic and at the same time hopeful for more blessings to come after this year. One year ago today was my bithday, and I opened this blog by transferring from another social site to Blogger. Seems like only yesterday, but I actually completed 52 weeks of writing about my hopes, and dreams, and prayers to You.

I feel that I need to share more about myself to others, to be more personal this time in letting others inside my private little world. So for the meantime, I will devote Like Showers on New Grass to memes, and open my new personal/family blog, STORIES FROM MY GARDEN to others.

May I be able to reach out to a lot of people too in that site, as I let them in my world this side of the planet, and be able to make more friends in blogsphere.

Thank You, Father, for many opportunities to serve You more each day. May we all become instruments of Your love as we meet people and visit places. I love you, Lord.

The Simple Woman's Daybook #52

FOR TODAY... Oct. 26, 2010 -- This marks my 1 whole year of Daybooking with some of the most awesome ladies in the planet! :)

Outside my window... Clear blue skies...

I am thinking... How wonderful it is to spend time with family during semestral break!

I am thankful for... Restful days like these.

I am wearing... A pale blue shirt-dress with Grumpy on it.

I am remembering... To lose weight and do some walking after my birthday on the 27th, and DS's on the 31st. :)

I am going... To start walking seriously again to manage my Type 2 Diabetes.

I am reading... Birthday cards for me and DS sent by my Mom in NJ, and birthday messages via email and Facebook. :)

I am hoping... Semestral vacations from school could be longer than just a week.

On my mind... Where to eat and celebrate tomorrow -- my birthday. Praise God for another blessed year.

From the learning rooms... None at the moment. Sem break is in the house. :)

Noticing that... The weather could be cold now, and warm tomorrow. So haywire...

Pondering these words... And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. -- Hebrews 13:16

From the kitchen... Chicken Tinola Soup. (So much like a warm, and comforting "Chicken Soup for the Soul")

Around the house... DS and DD are busy preparing their presents for me. Each are in their rooms, making some "secret something" themselves. God bless my children for their purity of heart and thoughfulness. :)

One of my favorite things... Being around my DH, DS, DD and Milkshake, our naughty Maltese family dog.

From my picture journal...

Thanks to Peggy for allowing me to take part in The Simple Woman's Daybook. Blessings and have a great week, everyone!

Music Monday #35 ~ Make Me Over

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

Father, please help me to become Christ-like in every way. I know I am still a long work in progress. I trust that you will change me as I continue to mature as a Christian, and show my DS and DD about your never-ending love. Thank You lord, for Your faithfulness in making me over...

I've been silent instead of speaking up
Gave my advice instead of giving love
I have been unfair, faithless and unkind
I have shut my eyes just so I would stay blind
It's not what I meant to do
'Cause I wanna honor You

Make me over, make me new
Make me a mirror, a reflection of You
Take me all apart
Take me to Your heart and pull me closer
Oh, Jesus, make me over

Take away the pride that whispers in the dark
Take the stone out of the middle of my heart
Hidden underneath my insecurities
Is the servant that You've destined me to be
But day after precious day
I get in my own way

Make me over, make me new
Make me a mirror, a reflection of You
Take me all apart
Take me to Your heart and pull me closer
Sweet Savior, make me over

I am only made of Your imagining
I'm dust and clay on the wind
Wash me in the river of Your sacrifice
Until I'm changed, purified
Take me all apart
Take me to Your heart and pull me closer

My Jesus, make me over
Make me over
Make me over
Please, take me over
I need You, I need You , Jesus
Make me over

My Calling

Dear God,

Sometimes I think that a lot of people do not fully understand that the call to motherhood comes from You. They just don't quite understand how much work goes into this blessed vocation. At times it's hard for me -- and other Moms, am sure -- because some people expect us to drop whatever we are doing to meet their wants and needs.

And so there are times when I feel like I want to scream, "Hey, being a Mom and taking care of my kids is a time-consuming and exhausting (serious) business!" I either want to feel sorry for myself or pat myself on the back for dedicating my life to motherhood. But, God, I know that both attitudes are not proper in Your eyes.

I should learn to accept my calling with a meek and humble spirit. Only when my outlook becomes Christlike will I truly be considered worthy of this kind of calling.

As a prisoner for the Lord,
then, I urge you to live a life
worthy of the calling you have received.
Be completely humble and gentle;
be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Ephesians 4:1-2

Tea Talk Time #42

1. I'm having... Plain, refreshing, cold water. :)

2. I'm feeling... Excited for our school's Foundation Day program tomorrow.

3. On my mind... For God to be glorified all the time in school, and at home.

But I tell you the truth:
It is for your good that I am going away.
Unless I go away,
the Counselor will not come to you;
but if I go,
I will send him to you.
John 16:7

Thanks Ruth for the refreshing Tea/Coffee Break! God bless you more, my friend!
