The Simple Woman's Daybook #44

FOR TODAY... Aug. 31, 2010

Outside my window... Sunny, but a bit windy.

I am thinking... Of going back to work after a long, restful weekend this past week. :)

I am thankful for... God's provisions and help every single day of our lives.

I am wearing... A printed pink shirt-dress with tiny hearts and Mickey Mouse on the pocket.

I am remembering... Good old songs from the 80's and 90's -- brings back highschool and college life memories!

I am going... To have to lose weight again. ^_^

I am reading... An easy to understand Bible Study Guide which am using for my group every Monday.

I am hoping... For good, cool weather this week (and always!)

On my mind... Losing weight and asking help from God to grant me self-control NOT to eat rice and other yummy carbs.

From the learning rooms... Math and Science for DS, and Reading for DD.

Noticing that... When you are truly busy, you will hardly realize that time does fly by swiftly. Tomorrow the "BER" months start, and that means we are just a few months away from CHRISTMAS! :)

Pondering these words... There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. -- Proverbs 14:12

From the kitchen... Chicken Arroz Caldo and Creamy Macaroni Soup.

Around the house... DD is singing along her Barbie Sing-along CD. :)

One of my favorite things... Milkshake, our 9 month old Maltese's funny antics.

From my picture journal...

Music Monday #27 ~ Indescribable

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

Jesus You are awesome and amazing, no word could ever describe how merciful and gracious You are to me...

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creations revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom

Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
You are amazing God

Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
You are amazing God
Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same
You are amazing God
You are amazing God

Wanting Nothing But Contentment

Dear God,

You know that there are some days when I just find myself wanting, wishing, or longing for so many, many things... I feel like a little brat child -- whining, stomping my feet and demanding my way. When days like that happen, my endless desires seem so much necessary. Yet when I stop to think and contemplate, I know they truly don't matter. In reality they are just material and temporal... No real value in heaven.

I often wonder -- how can I ever tell my DS and DD to be happy and contented with what they have, when I myself want more from You...? That's a big, huge no-no on my part! I feel so ashamed of my ways. Father, my prayer is that You fill me with so much contentment so that my family -- especially DS and DD -- will be blessed with understanding this teaching from You. Please teach us and help us realize that Your provisions are more than enough to satisfy our everyday, daily, and future needs. As a Mom, please help me realize too, that my many wants are temporary and of little importance. Let me continuously lean on You, Lord, relaxed, and refreshed in the knowledge that you alone will care for me and my family.

I am not saying this because I am in need,
for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
Philippians 4:11

Tea Talk Time #34

1. I'm having... A mug of black coffee to perk up my drooping eyes in class...

2. I'm feeling... Not so good especially after the hostage taking crisis in Manila which created a wide gap between my country and Hong Kong...

3. On my mind... I fervently pray that the spirit of violence will not prevail in all places, and in all countries. That God's mighty hand will take care of those who do wrong to others, and that peace will reign in our hearts as well...

Yet, O LORD, you are our Father.
We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.
Isaiah 64:8

Thanks Ruth for the refreshing Tea/Coffee Break! God bless you more, my friend!

Being Merciful Instead Of Being Angry

Dear God,

If You could put Your wrath aside, and instead, offer forgiving kindness, love and mercy for my abundant sins, how can I do less when it concerns the errors of my DS and DD, and even other people around me? You are always so gracious when I don't deserve it... I need a lot of Your strength to be compassionate when someone wrongs me or hurts my feelings. It is always so much easier for me to strike and hit back, but I want to be like You, to emulate and follow You.

I know it is important that I do this, not only for the feelings of everyone involved, but also so that I may be an example of Your love. I wouldn't want to be responsible for anyone, especially my kids, rejecting You because I chose to react inappropriately to a wrong done. Please direct my steps and actions, Lord, and grant me the strength I need to be like You in many ways...

Yet he was merciful;
he forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them.
Time after time he restrained his anger
and did not stir up his full wrath.
Psalm 78:38

Music Monday #26 ~ Shout To The Lord

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

This is one of my earliest favorite worship songs. Darlene Zschech of Hillsong Australia rocks! Lord, to the heavens we shout our praise and worship to You!

My Jesus, my Saviour
Lord there is none like You
All of my days I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love

My comfort, my shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship You

Shout to the Lord
All the Earth, let us sing
Power and majesty
Praise to the King
Mountains bow down
And the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name

I sing for joy at the works
Of Your hands
Forever I'll love You
Forever I'll stand
Nothing compares
To the promise I have
In You

Music Monday #25 ~ How Great Is Our God

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

Lord, thank You for Your presence in our lives, that all that concerns us concerns You, and all our worries and fears are gone because of You.

The splendor of a King,
clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice,
all the earth rejoice
He wraps himself in light,
and darkness tries to hide
it trembles at His voice,
trembles at His voice

How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great,
How great is our God

And age to age He stands
and time is in His Hands
Beginning and the End,
Beginning and the End
The Godhead, three in one
Father, Spirit, Son
the Lion and the Lamb,
the Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great,
How great is our God

Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
how great is our God
Name above all names
You are worthy of all praise
and my heart will sing
how great is our God

How great is our God,
Sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great,
How great is our God

How great is our God,
Sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great,
How great is our God
How great is our God,
Sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great,
How great is our God

Music Monday #24 ~ All Of Me

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

Lord, thank You for Your love and mercy, that even when I stumble and fall, You are always there to welcome me back. Your love is so unconditional and one-of-a-kind. Thank You Father, because in You we become blameless and pure.

Holy Father, love me still
I have fallen from Your will
I am broken
Hear my humble cry
My cry...

Take my life and make it Yours, Lord
Fill me with Your love
You are all I need
I surrender all of me...

I have wandered for so long
Tired and weary on my own
In Your arms I know I'm home, O God
My God...

Take my life and make it Yours, Lord
Fill me with Your love
You are all I need
I surrender all of me...

Take my life and make it Yours, Lord
Fill me with Your love
You are all I need
I surrender
I surrender
I surrender all of me...

Music Monday #23 ~ The Only Thing That’s Beautiful In Me

Thanks to Shawntele of Saved by Grace, for this wonderful meme. There won't be Monday blues for me again because my week starter will be filled with melodies for the Lord!

Yes, You are the only thing beautiful in me...

Just like the ocean waves
You crash on me
Just like a tidal wave
You ruin me
Just like a hurricane
You devastate everything that needs to change

You are the only thing that’s beautiful in me
That's Beautiful in me
And You are the only thing that’s beautiful in me
That's Beautiful in me

Just like a mountain peak
You lift me up
Just like a desert stream
You fill my cup
And like a heart that beats
You are the blood that covers me
You cover me

You are the only thing that’s beautiful in me
That's Beautiful in me
And You are the only thing that’s beautiful in me
That's Beautiful in me

And all I can say is thank you, thank you
And all I can say is thank you, Lord thank you
And all I can say is thank you, thank you

You are the only thing that’s beautiful in me
That's Beautiful in me
And You are the only thing that’s beautiful in me
That's Beautiful in me
